"The Sorcere's Apprentice," from Walt Disney's Fantasia
Mickey Mouse helped make one piece of music famous. A piece by another composer owes its fame to a late-night disc jockey and an Oscar-winning movie.
And while the two composers wrote other music, it’s pretty much overlooked. They are, in the parlance of the pop music industry, “one-hit wonders."
In the next hour, Johann Pachelbel and his famous Canon, and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice of Paul Dukas--as well as other works by these two composers.
