No living musician better exemplifies the blending of classical music and jazz than Italian pianist Rossano Sportiello. Rossano began studying with classical pianist Carlo Villa and later was mentored by jazz great Barry Harris. Sportiello has been acknowledged as a master of the stride style and has been compared to Art Tatum. He first came to the U.S. in 2003. Since his marriage to American writer Lala Moore in 2007, he has established himself in N.YC., working with several jazz luminaries and Livestreaming from his flat in Greenwich Village.
During Classical Music Month, The Classical Side of Jazz is generously supported by Dr. Dean Keith Simonton and Dr. Demosthenes Pappagianis.
