Excellence in Jazz is celebrating the women of jazz all month during Women's History Month. Tonight we shine the spotlight on French vocalist Camille Bertault.
- Camille wrote a set of French lyric's to John Coltrane's Giant Steps.
- The accuracy with which she scatted Coltrane's solo drew critical praise.
- She has created dozens of videos for her YouTube and Facebook pages.
- Studied classical piano, theatre and dance at conservatory of Nice.
- Inspired by her jazz-loving father, Camille studied vocal jazz improvisation at the Conservatoire de Paris.
We'll also feature legendary vocalist and pianist Blossom Dearie and salute George Benson, who was born on this day in 1943.
