Jerry Brown's Impact On California

Andrew Nixon / Capital Public Radio

Andrew Nixon / Capital Public Radio

When Jerry Brown terms out of the California governor’s office Monday, he, his wife and their two dogs will head to his family’s ranch in rural Colusa County to begin what he refuses to call a “retirement.”

Recently CapRadio's Ben Adler sat down with Brown to reflect on his time in office. With First Dogs Colusa and Cali Brown riding shotgun, the governor drove us in his golf cart up a steep hill and gave us a tour of the ranch amid the beautiful rolling Colusa County foothills. We also sat down in the new home he and First Lady Anne Gust Brown built on the ranch to discuss his governorship.

We'll be bringing you stories on air and online starting Thursday about Brown's reflections on his time in office, the pivotal moment of his governorship, and a look at some of Brown's more memorable quotes.
