New NBA Commissioner Impressed With Sacramento Kings Arena Plans

Silver visited the Kings owner Vivek Ranadive on his first trip since taking over for David Stern Saturday.

He received a standing ovation from the sellout crowd for Sacramento's game against the Toronto Raptors last night.

Silver says the plans for Sacramento's arena are unlike anything he's ever seen.

"The grandness of the opening ... the indoor, outdoor look where they create a large concourse in the front and you get that sense that even when you're on the outside ... you're all part of what the event is happening inside the arena, I think it's very representative of the values of the game as expressed by Vivek and his partners."

~Adam Silver, NBA Commissioner

The design has yet to receive final approval from the city, but Silver is confident it will work out.
