Joanne started her journey at CapRadio working with The View From Here documentary team as a production assistant. She contributed to the production of a number of documentaries. And, also used her social media passion to help create Twitter and Facebook strategic plans that boosted the documentary program’s online presence.
Joanne speaks both English and Arabic fluently and uses her language skills to give voices to more people in our community through storytelling.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a minor in mass communication from Sacramento State University.

The Sacramento Mural Festival is back for its second year but with bigger plans and a new name. Wide Open Walls 916 takes place from Aug. 10 to 20. Fifty artists from around the world will paint 40 murals in two-weeks.

Local teens looking to attend their prom won’t need to go far or pay a high price for their formal wear. That’s because the Sacramento Public Library is giving away free prom attire throughout March and April at various library locations.
Nineteen students make up Encina Preparatory High School’s varsity men’s soccer team. Four different languages are spoken by team members: Arabic, English, Spanish and Kinyarwanda, the language spoken in Rwanda. But, language isn't a barrier.
