The jazz and hip-hop group The Lique returns to Sacramento to share music from their new album, "Times Like These."

Rasar, the band's MC, grew up in the Sacramento area and once performed under the stage name Random Abiladeze. A few years ago, Rasar relocated to Las Vegas where he met his bandmates, bassist Nick Schmidt, drummer Jeremy Klewicki, guitarist Sean Carbone and keyboardist Jason Corpuz.

Last month in a performance at Momo Sacramento, Rasar marked the 10-year anniversary of his first release, "Brutally Honest."

Next week, The Lique will host an all-ages album release party for "Times Like These" on Friday, May 4, at Momo Sacramento.

The lead single from the new album is "The Lick," which recounts the story of how the band got their name.

You can also see The Lique perform at the Whole Earth Festival in Davis on May 13, at Moody's Bistro Bar & Beats in Truckee on June 7 through 9, and at the Crazy Horse Saloon in Nevada City on June 15.
