When we think about classical music, most of the time we consider it to be the purview of the 18th and 19th-century European composer. However, in the early 1900s, the world began to see an upswing in the production of this remarkable music coming out of America.

This Independence Day CapRadio will be staging an American Revolution of its very own. Tune in to our classical station on Thursday, July 4th to hear dozens of works by a wide variety of great American composers including Copland, Still, Barber, Bernstein, Price, Beach, Gershwin, Williams, Higdon, and many more.

Beginning at 6 a.m. we’ll be featuring music made specifically here in America. Then stay tuned after 7 p.m. for Excellence in Jazz, the music dubbed America’s great gift to the world.
