Meadowview Counts: What’s On Your Mind This Election?

  •  jesikah maria ross
Wednesday, September 23, 2020 | Sacramento, CA

For the 2020 elections, CapRadio is asking people who live, work and worship in one South Sacramento neighborhood — Meadowview — to share their questions and concerns to guide our election reporting. To do it, we’re teaming up with The Sacramento Observer and the Local Voices Network. It’s our way of involving communities in producing stories and resources that respond to community needs.

Why Meadowview? We’ve been reporting in and with Meadowview residents over the past few years, as part of our “Making Meadowview” podcast. We started spending more time in the neighborhood after the 2018 fatal police shooting of Stephon Clark. Now, for the election, we hope to continue working with residents to make sure Meadowview has a bigger voice for the 2020 vote.

So Meadowview neighbors: tell us what issues matter to you this election. We know the pandemic and racial justice are on people’s minds. But what about “rent control,” having a “strong mayor” and what you want to hear City Council candidates discuss as they compete for your vote? Or how will voting-by-mail even work this year?

We want to lift up what you have to say about the issues this election — but first, we need to hear from you.

Thanks for filling out this form, to start, to let us know what issues are important to you and what questions you have for city leaders.

Fill Out Our Form

Rather talk through your ideas and concerns? Join Meadowview neighbors and CapRadio reporters for a virtual discussion on this year’s election. These intimate conversations will help shape CapRadio’s stories, the issues we focus on — and even the questions we’ll ask politicians.

We want to hear what’s important to you this election and provide information and resources to help.  Fill out the form, join a conversation or both!

We look forward to connecting with you.
