Grand Jury Indicts 2 Men In Deadly Stockton Bank Robbery

Monday, December 22, 2014 | Sacramento, CA

(AP) - Two men have been indicted in a deadly bank robbery and shootout with police this summer in Stockton.

The indictment announced Monday in the San Joaquin County Superior Court charges 20-year-old Jaime Ramos, the lone survivor of three suspected robbers. Also indicted is 21-year-old Pablo Ruvalcaba, who is suspected of driving the men to the bank.

Police say that on July 16 the three armed men robbed the Bank of the West branch, taking two bank employees and a customer as hostages.

Police say 41-year-old Misty Holt-Sing, a customer at the bank, was killed during the exchange of gunfire with police. The two employees were injured but survived.

Police say Ramos used Holt-Sing as a human shield. He had been charged earlier with three counts of murder.

Ramos' attorney was not immediately available for comment.
