The Sacramento City Council Tuesday night voted 7-0 to approve spending $8 million in private and public money for a large, colorful, metallic pig. "Piglet" -as sculptor Jeff Koons calls it- will stand outside the downtown arena.

Kings/City To Pay $8 Million For Piglet-Inspired Sculpture

The Sacramento Kings and City of Sacramento have agreed to pay almost all of a $5.5 million fund set aside for arena art for a single piece. Three Kings owners ponied up another $1 million each to commission the work of New York artist Jeff Koons.
