For the second year in a row, Gov. Jerry Brown has vetoed legislation that would have smoking at California state parks and beaches. Meanwhile, he signed a bill that reduces the penalty for intentionally transmitting HIV to another person.
The California Legislature moved forward Thursday on bills that would require employers to report on the pay gap between male and female employees, and to lighten the penalty for intentionally transmitting HIV.
