Conor Oberst performs at Housing Works Bookstore in New York, N.Y.

On the day Conor Oberst released Ruminations, one of his most personal records, he performed all the songs from that album — some of them for the first time. We've pulled three of our favorite songs into a mini-set here, filmed at Housing Works Bookstore cafe in NYC. "Tachycardia," "Gossamer Thin" and "A Little Uncanny" establish the sound of the record, spare and lyric-based. These are the sounds of hard moments, elevated through beautiful music and a true poetic touch.
