On Saturday, Sacramento County residents got their first chance to vote in-person this election, including at a site no one could have anticipated during the March primary: the Golden 1 Center.
The downtown arena is serving as a vote center for this election to provide a socially distanced way to vote during the COVID-19 pandemic. Any Sacramento County resident can vote in-person, turn in a mail-in ballot or get assistance on other voting questions. While there was plenty of space, only a few voters showed up early Saturday, including Kings player Harrison Barnes.
Golden 1 will be open as a vote center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day through Nov. 2, and then 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can find a map of voting locations in Sacramento, Yolo, Placer and El Dorado counties here.
