It's going to be hot in the Sacramento Valley this week. Forecasters expect triple-digit temperatures by Thursday.
"Most Valley locations will be in the hundreds by Friday and the North Sacramento Valley, Redding, Red Bluff could top over 110 degrees," says meteorologist Courtney Obergfell with the National Weather Service.

Forecasters are advising residents to take precautions especially when outside for outdoor activities
"Try to stay cool if you can, drink enough and stay hydrated and keep a look out for pets, elderly, sensitive groups during this time period," says Obergfell.

The heat will also bring an increased fire danger in the area, with dry thunderstorms expected in the mountains Friday.
The Weather Service predicts temperatures will gradually cool off over the weekend.
