The Sacramento Kings are revealing more information about their plans for the area around the arena that's now under construction in downtown Sacramento.
The President of the Sacramento Kings Chris Granger unveiled new details about the proposal for building on J Street between fifth and seventh streets prior to a discussion with the city's Planning and Design Commission.
Granger says the plans include a hotel, restaurants, retail, office and living space.
"Truly a mixed use project that we think is going to amplify the activity in and around the arena to begin with," he says. "Our investment is going to be in the neighborhood of $250 million."
Granger says he believes the proposed project will re-define the downtown area. He says the group will return to the planning commission early next year and the goal is to present the project to the City council shortly after that.
