More Hot Weather In Store For Sacramento Region Before Cooldown

  •  Marianne Russ
Monday, October 6, 2014 | Sacramento, CA

A high pressure ridge over the west coast is keeping temperatures toasty in the Sacramento area.

Brooke Bingaman with the National Weather Service in Sacramento says this past weekend was considerably warmer than this time a year ago.

"Yesterday in Sacramento our high temperature was around 96 degrees, but if you compare that to last year we were only around 84 degrees," says Bingaman.

But Bingaman says some relief is on the way.  By the middle of this week, it should start cooling off, with temperatures closer to normal by Friday .

"The Delta breeze will be coming back, although conditions will remain dry," says Bingaman.
