10/6 King Fire Update: Crews Continue Mop Up Work

The King Fire burning near Pollock Pines is now 98 percent contained.

The fire has burned almost 98,000 acres and over 1,900 firefighters continue mopping up.

The fire, which started Sept. 13, destroyed 12 homes and 68 other structures and at one point forced the evacuation of nearly 3000 people.    

A community meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Camino.
