The Sacramento Valley will be warming up this week with the hottest days expected on Wednesday and Thursday.
A ridge of high pressure will build throughout Northern California and brings a warming trend.
Maximum temperatures are expected to be 15 to 20 degrees above normal -- which may bring some record temperatures to some locations. Low temperatures are expected at 6 to 12 degrees above normal for this time of the year.
Forecasters say these may be the highest temperatures for the area so far this year. The warm temperatures will melt the snowpack resulting to colder waters in rivers and lakes.
A cool-down is expected for the weekend.
Temps today will rise 7 to 14 degrees warmer than yesterday. This may be the warmest temps so far this year. #cawx pic.twitter.com/GN4HFyY2Kz
