EPA Approves California's Plan To Comply With Safe Drinking Water Act

In April, the EPA said the Department had failed to distribute nearly half a billion dollars in federal money to provide clean drinking water to communities that need it.

The EPA says the state’s plan fully addresses the agency’s concerns. But the EPA says if the state fails to implement any part of the plan, federal money could be withheld.

The plan requires the Department of Public Health to distribute $878-million to communities by June of 2016.
