Laura Fitzgerald is a statehouse and politics reporter for CapRadio.

Laura has covered California’s high profile redistricting battle, unionization efforts for Capitol staffers, and scores of bills lawmakers have voted on in Sacramento. She’s also interested in how special interests wield power in the State Capitol and how that impacts communities on the ground.

Prior to her work as a journalist, Laura was a legislative staffer in the California State Assembly where she worked on policies pertaining to elections, voting rights, and campaign finance disclosure. Laura is a graduate of UC Davis as well as UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism.
