Gun Control Bills Two California lawmakers
are pushing gun control bills in the wake of the two recent
shootings in Colorado and Wisconsin. One bill will require
ammunition dealers to report large buyers to police and the other
will ban certain ammo magazine that convert rifles into
semiautomatic guns.
Sacramento's K Street Historian William Burg
chronicles the history of K Street in his fourth book, Sacramento's K Street. The other
books are Sacramento's Southside Park, Sacramento's
Streetcars and Then and Now: Sacramento. He has
written approximately 50 articles on local history for Midtown
Monthly Magazine and Sacramento Press. He is
currently President of Sacramento Old City Association, a historic
preservation and urban planning nonprofit, and Vice-President of
Sacramento County Historical Society, a nonprofit that promotes
local history through education and publications.
Sacramento Film Scene Laurie
Pederson is being honored with the 2012 Film Arts Service Award at
this year's Sacramento Film & Music Festival. It starts
Wednesday at the Crest Theater. Pederson is a longtime filmmaker
and producer in Sacramento and we'll talk with her about making
movies in the Capitol.
The Quinn Hedges Band The Quinn Hedges
Band is releasing its newest CD "Step Outside" during
a performance at Harlow's on August 15. We'll have the band in
studio for a live, acoustic song and hear tracks from the new
album.
