COVID-19 has changed almost every aspect of daily life in the greater Sacramento region. The virus has taken tens of thousands of lives, roiled the economy, and plunged the nation into a new physically-distant world.

To find out just how people have been affected, CapRadio and Valley Vision polled residents to understand and report on the experiences and attitudes of people in the Sacramento region during this pandemic.

The first poll was conducted in May 2020, with a second one in September 2020. A third poll was conducted in March 2021 and released on May 10. The public opinion poll is administered by Sacramento State’s Institute for Social Research.

READ THE REPORTS: CapRadio and Valley Vision released three COVID-19 Resilience Poll reports studying different points in time.

  • May 2020
  • September 2020
  • March 2021 (released May 2021)

KEY TAKEAWAYS: The joint survey suggests residents experience the pandemic differently depending on their racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. See our main findings and data visualizations from each poll:

  • May 2020
  • September 2020
  • March 2021 (released May 2021)

INSIGHT: We'll discuss what we've learned from the poll and what it means for different communities in the region on CapRadio's Insight.

A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING: Why we decided to ask area residents about their experiences around coronavirus, and how we plan to use the data.
