My classical moment occurred as a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania in 1967. A professor invited me into his office to listen to classical music. He played Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 in F Major from a long-playing vinyl record. The receiver, the turntable and the two speakers were top notch and the resulting stereo sound was superb!
I was captivated by both the symphony and the equipment’s sound. I had to duplicate that moment! After graduating, one of my first purchases was virtually identical equipment. It has been almost 50 years and Beethoven is still my favorite composer.
