A San Jose woman accused of killing two women and their son in an Oakland home is a former Sacramento area teacher.
Dana Rivers was arrested as she tried to drive away from the scene covered in blood last Friday.
In 1999, Rivers was known as David Warfield and gained national attention over her sex change and discussion of it in class.
She was suspended from Center High School in Antelope and later later settled a lawsuit with the school district.
Authorities have not released a motive for the killings but say it might have been a dispute over property.
