(AP) - Nevada officials say the number of active voters in the state declined in August.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal
reports that the secretary of state's office said Thursday that both parties lost voters, mostly because of statewide list maintenance.
Active voters dropped by 11,876 in August compared to July. There are 1.33 million active voters in the state.
Voters are considered inactive if they've moved and their new address cannot be verified by election officials. Inactive voters can still cast a ballot if they meet all legal requirements to vote.
