The National Endowment for the Arts has awarded $125,000 to a project proposed by the cities of Sacramento and West Sacramento.
Kerry Wood with the Crocker Art Museum says the money will be used to create a master plan for art installations on both sides of the Sacramento River.
"It allows the opportunity for new works of arts to be commissioned and to form really an arts loop that unifies both cities and creates more liveable districts especially during this time of the region's development and all of the exciting things going on in the Sacramento region."
The grant is one of 69 from the federal "Our Town" program this year. The grants total $5 million.
