Organizers say there is plenty to do keep warm during this year's New Year's Eve celebration in downtown Sacramento.

In West Sacramento yesterday, Matthew Gilfillan [GILL fill en] of Pyro Spectaculars was setting up the nine o'clock and midnight shows. He has a list of all of the fireworks available and a list of hit songs from 2014.

"From those two, I create the script file and the script file and the script file gets loaded onto the computers that ultimately work together to discharge the display."

Sidney Scheideman is with the Sacramento Convention and Visitors Bureau. She says this year's event will offer music and entertainment for the kids

"The Madison Hudson band will be live from 6 pm to 9 pm along with Sacramento's premier 3-D game theater that will be on site. That's new to the event this year along with balloon twisting and face-painting."

The music, theater, and fireworks are free.
