Thursday, July 4, 2013 | Sacramento, CA

Eight children have been injured near Nevada City when the modified canoe on wheels they were riding crashed.

The Nevada City Fire Department says two children with moderate injuries were flown by air ambulance to hospitals in Roseville and Sacramento.  Three more were taken by ground ambulance to local hospitals.  Three were taken in private vehicle.

The Nevada City fire chief says the canoe was part of a local children’s camp’s activities.
