Sacramento, CA – November 9, 2018: Capital Public Radio, as part of the California Dream collaboration with CALmatters, KQED, KPBS and KPCC, is pleased to announce the California Mayors’ Forum on Homelessness and Housing.

The Forum brings together mayors from four of California’s largest cities, including Mayor Darrell Steinberg (Sacramento), Mayor Eric Garcetti (Los Angeles), Mayor Libby Schaaf (Oakland) and Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer (San Diego), for an in-person discussion on the topic of homelessness and housing shortages.

Moderated by CALmatters Political Reporter Laurel Rosenhall, attendees will have an opportunity to hear how each mayor is addressing this issue in their cities, as well as a what they think California can do to help resolve this growing crisis.

“This event is a reflection of CapRadio’s mission to create open and constructive dialogue on key issues that impact Californians,” says Joe Barr, Chief Content Officer of Capital Public Radio. “Homelessness and housing have evolved into a complex and widespread challenge for California, and we’re excited to bring four mayors together to discuss this important topic, their responses, and the potential solutions at state and local levels.”

The Mayors’ Forum will be held in Sacramento, CA on Friday, November 16 at 11:30 a.m. Located in the auditorium of the Secretary of State building, the event is free admission with RSVP.

The Mayors’ Forum is part of Capital Public Radio and the California Dream’s effort to focus on issues of economic opportunity, quality-of-life and the future of California by sharing stories and creating civil discourse about education, jobs, housing and the wealth gap.
