Sacramento County Health officials worked with Vista Del Lago High School this week to inform families about meningitis, its symptoms and treatment. A student at the high school was hospitalized with the bacterial form of meningitis, which can be treated successfully with antibiotics. Left untreated, however, the illness can be deadly.
