Some 4.6 million Californians have filed unemployment claims since the coronavirus pandemic began in March.

The number of claims has overwhelmed the state with a growing backlog and longer wait times for help. Unemployment websites have repeatedly crashed and are ill-equipped for the overload.

And for millions of residents laid off amid the crisis, financial support cannot come soon enough.

We talk with an employment law expert today about how to navigate unemployment, benefits, and more.

Guests:

  • Shaw Law Group president and employment law expert Jennifer Shaw
