Sacramento City Councilman Jay Schenirer announced yesterday (Thursday) a new department focused titled Youth, Recreation and Community Enrichment.

The department will prioritize city funding for new afterschool programs, park maintenance, youth jobs and more. Schenirer explains how the department is being funded, a new youth focused program started by Regional Transit and his priorities for 2018. He’ll also respond to a recent announcement on the controversial gas station project proposed for Crocker Village.
