Representative Dan Lungren has conceded the 7th District race against Ami Bera. Lungren thanked his staff and supporters and in a written statement wished Bera well in his first term in the United States Congress, "It is my hope that Dr. Bera approaches Congress, as have I, with a humble heart, respect for the institution and a desire to perform his duties in the best interest of the people he represents and the country."
Lungren is a nine-term congressman and served as California Attorney General for eight years.
