NY Phil Program from the First Concert of the First Season - Dec 7, 1842

The originally-named New York Philharmonic Society gave its first concert on December 7, 1842. This week, the New York Philharmonic celebrates its 175th anniversary with a performance that includes works on that original program:

Weber: Oberon Overture
Mozart: Sinfonia Concertante for Winds
Beethoven: Symphony No. 5

Trivia: Beethoven's 5th Symphony was only 34 years old when performed at the first NY Phil concert in 1842.
