8/1/2018 Townsend Opera Summer Institute Students Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Modesto Over 25 young singers will attend our 1st Annual Summer Opera Institute where they will learn from local Opera professionals. The Summer Opera Institute is held in July and culminates with a concert at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Modesto on August 1, 2018 at 7:00 pm. 1600 Carver Rd, Modesto. The concert is free but donations are gratefully accepted.
8/3/2018 Bear Valley Orchestra Bear Valley Music Festival "Concerto Night." Micheal Morgan leads the BV Orchestra in the Divertimento Concertante for double bass and orchestra by Nino Rota with soloist David Murray. Vivaldi’s Oboe Concerto in F with soloist Tom Nugent. "Pacific Rounds," an orchestral work by rising California composer Chris Wong. 7pm Festival tent.
8/3/2018 Classical Tahoe Orchestra. Ekaterina Semenchuk Classical Tahoe "From the Opera House to the Concert Hall." Mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Semenchuk sings Rossini, Verdi, Donizetti, Saint-Saëns. Plus, the Brahms Symphony #2. 7-11pm. Sierra Nevada College, Incline Village, NV
8/4/2018 Bear Valley Orchestra Bear Valley Music Festival "Greatest Show Yet" Gala. Celebrate our 50th year at this gala benefit with a scrumptious meal, fine wines, dancing, auction and a concert by the Bear Valley Orchestra. 5pm-12am Festival tent.

8/25/2018 Keyboard Conversation with Jeffrey Siegel Harris Center "Commemorating Rachmaninoff and Debussy." 2018 marks the 75th and 100th anniversaries of the deaths of these two beloved composers. Program includes the famous C Sharp Minor Prelude, Clair de lune, and stirring Etudes of both composers. American pianist Jeffrey Siegel offers comments on the work, composer, even the times in which the work was composed, and then gives a virtuosic performance of a piano masterpiece. A lively Q&A concludes the concert. 7:30pm at Harris Center.

9/8/2018 Kirill Gliadkovsky Sac State Pianist Kirill Gliadkovsky opens the 2018-2019 Piano Series. Gliadkovsky was born in Moscow and has studied music since the age of 5. He attended the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow - the most prestigious music institution in Russia. 7pm at Capistrano Concert Hall, Sac State.

9/15/2018 The Four Phantoms Harris Center Four leading men who have taken the lead role on Broadway in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera" come to the Harris Center to celebrate the legendary work of the many composers and artists who have made Broadway an American art form.
