The West Coast's biggest heavy metal, rock and punk festival — Aftershock — lineup was announced Wednesday featuring more than 140 bands across five stages making 2026 the largest they’ve ever assembled.
The 14th annual four-day festival, by promoter Danny Wimmer Presents, is slated to run the first four days in October and will feature headliners My Chemical Romance on Thursday, Limp Bizkit on Friday, Peirce The Veil on Saturday and Tool on Sunday.
Danny Wimmer said in a press release that this year’s Aftershock will mark a bold new chapter for the festival.
“We’ve brought together metal, punk, emo, and nu-metal to create a lineup that’s raw, youthful, and unapologetic,” Wimmer said. “With TOOL anchoring the weekend and Pierce The Veil making their headlining debut, we’re breaking boundaries and redefining what Aftershock can be.”
Aftershock 2025 broke attendance records with over 164,000 people from around the world, according to organizers.
The lineup also includes Sacramento’s own Dance Gavin Dance and Oleander, hip-hop acts Wu-Tang Clan, Public Enemy, and Cypress Hill, reggae rock band Sublime, Danny Elfman, Insane Clown Posse, and much more.
This year, Aftershock is rolling out festival camping at Cal Expo with car, tent and RV options. The camping experience includes showers, 24-hour security, amenities, one vehicle pass and a pre-party the day before the festival on Cal Expo grounds.
“After years of fan requests, we’re finally introducing camping — giving fans the chance to fully immerse themselves in the weekend. This is a new era for Aftershock, and Sacramento is about to feel it,” Wimmer said.
There will also be a new open-air cantina featuring drinks and cocktails and a sports bar located steps away from the newly added stage.
“Aftershock continues to be a seminal moment for Sacramento, not just for the fans, but for the people who live and work here every day,” said Visit Sacramento President & CEO Mike Testa. “The festival brings thousands of people to our city for four incredible days, generating more than $39 million in economic impact.”
Four-day general admission, single-day and VIP tickets are available to purchase on the Aftershock website.
Country music festival GoldenSky, which Danny Wimmer Presents also promotes, was postponed for the second year in a row. The festival is usually slated the following weekend of Aftershock.
