It looks like Davis' annual Beer Week and Bike and Brew Fest will go on as planned in August.
On Monday organizers posted social media announcements that they were canceling over worries about violating state alcohol laws.
But in an email statement issued today to Capital Public Radio, the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control said:
“After learning that the Davis Beer Week and Bike and Brew Fest events were being cancelled, ABC reached out last night to let event organizers know that the Department is willing to sit down with them and help assist them to organize a safe and successful event this year. The department shares the goal of community leaders and businesses to put on these festivals because they raise money for worthy causes and are good for the local economy. “
Last month, organizers of Sacramento's Grape Escape wine event canceled partly because of worries about violating state ABC laws.
