Nineteen people have been arrested in the Sacramento region for a marijuana cultivation operation the Elk Grove Police Department is calling a large-scale operation.
Officers from Elk Grove, Sacramento, Yolo, Yuba and Sutter counties served warrants at 20 locations today.
Investigators found 6,000 marijuana plants, 180 pounds of processed marijuana, and $70,000 in cash.
Child Protective Services took custody of nine children between the ages of 1- and 15-years old. Police say they were living in houses that had been converted marijuana grow sites.
