Upcoming Trips

Here's what we're planning:

Music and Food in Italy

Coloseum at NightDo you love the works of Vivaldi, Puccini, & Rossini? Now imagine combining their monumental compositions with a fine red wine, rare renaissance art, colorful outdoor markets, and undiscovered medieval villages. If you have ever wanted to experience the fullness of the Italian legacy, then you will certainly love this leisurely small group classical adventure to bella Italia! The deadline to sign up is June 30th.

San Francisco Symphony

Davies HallOn May 17 at 8:00 p.m. in Davies Symphony Hall, Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony are joined by pianist Yefim Bronfman, performing the Brahms Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor. This work, Brahms’s first major orchestral composition, is paired with his Variations on a Theme by Haydn. Also on the program is the Serenade No. 2 in A major. This concert is part of a three-week Brahms Festival. It sounded like such an incredible program that KXPR is organizing an expedition!

Miles From India

Palace of Fine ArtsOn May 31 at 8:00 p.m. at San Franicisco's Palace of Fine Arts, Grammy-winning producer Bob Belden’s monumental “Miles from India” CD project (releasing spring ’08) comes to life onstage, as Miles Davis veterans Ron Carter, Badal Roy, Wallace Roney, and other jazz greats join masters of Indian music for a culture-crossing exploration of Miles’ music. KXJZ is organizing a trip, including dinner, to this great event.
