Wet Winter Likely To Delay Tahoe Area Fire Season

It looks like this year's fire season will start later than normal in the Tahoe area...sometime in July-August rather than the typical May-June time frame. That's because of the wet winter and a snowpack 200 to 300 percent of normal.

(AP) — The FAA is investigating a near-miss between a hobby drone and a sheriff's helicopter in Reno during an aerial attack on a wind-whipped brush fire that was threatening dozens of suburban homes on the edge of the Sierra.
