Sacramento’s Housing Crisis: Let’s Talk About It

Sacramento is grappling with a housing-affordability crisis. We've had the fastest rising rents in the nation for two years in a row. We have record-high home prices, a growing homeless population and intensifying gentrification and displacement. There are many neighborhoods of color that for years have been overlooked, due to historic housing policies and lack of economic opportunity.

Residents from all walks of life in Sacramento are impacted by housing, though in very different ways. But there is not a place for community members to come together and find common ground.

That's why CapRadio is collaborating with community partners to host a series of Story Circles. These gatherings bring diverse residents together to share personal experiences, listen and explore how to move forward. Story Circles will be held in different Sacramento neighborhoods creating a unique opportunity for residents with different life experiences to meet and learn from each other.

If you’d like to participate in this bridge-building conversation, let us know by filling out this Story Circle form.

To learn more about Sacramento’s housing crisis, visit The View From Here: Place And Privilege, CapRadio's deep dive into the history, politics and economics of the housing crisis in California's capital.
