Sacramento's housing shortage affects everyone from middle-class renters priced out of desirable neighborhoods, to millennials who may never be able to afford to own a home, to NIMBY and YIMBY homeowners, to homeless residents sleeping (and dying) on the steps of City Hall. There just aren't enough affordable places to live.
On Aug. 15, The View From Here will release the first three podcast episodes of our newest series Place and Privilege which explores the history, politics and economics of housing affordability in California’s capitol.
We’re thrilled to share a sneak peak of the podcast. Click the player above to hear an audio trailer of Place and Privilege.
And, one extra treat, we’re excited to invite you to participate in a unique experience: a community Story Circle. These intimate gatherings will take place around Sacramento in August and September, bringing residents from different backgrounds together to meet and share experiences about home.
