Here's The Thing With Alec Baldwin: Lena Dunham & Elaine Stritch

9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23

Alec visits first with Lena Dunham, creator and co-executive producer of the HBO hit series GIRLS.  The show, going into its third season, examines the life of twenty-something Hannah Horvath, played by Dunham, and her friends as they stumble their way toward adulthood.  Dunham discusses her creative relationship with co-executive producer Judd Apatow, and how coming from a family of artists has affected her work.

Alec then speaks with actress Elaine Stritch, who after performing for nearly 70 years, recently moved home to Birmingham, Michigan.  As Elaine tells Alec, she doesn't "want to pretend anymore."  Stritch details her transition from the Sacred Heart Convent to New York theater classes sitting between Walter Matthau and Marlon Brando. Alec and Elaine also reminisce about working together on 30 Rock when she played his character’s mother, Colleen Donaghy.
