The AMC TV series “The Walking Dead” returns this Sunday for a sixth season. The highest-rated show for young adults, the plot features zombie gore and deals with themes of whether or not humanity can prevail in such a violent setting.
The spinoff show “Fear the Walking Dead” is less about the zombie apocalypse and more about a dysfunctional family brought together in the face of danger. Its first season closed with mixed reviews.
NPR's TV critic Eric Deggans joins Here & Now's Robin Young to talk about AMC's successful programming.
