In the wake of the shooting at Umpqua Community College last week, Here & Now looks at gun ownership and gun-related deaths in the U.S., and also how that compares with other countries.
The U.S. has the highest private gun ownership rates in the world, or as Vox recently put it, Americans make up about 4.43 percent of the world’s population, but they own roughly 42 percent of all the world’s privately-held firearms.
Host Jeremy Hobson looks at some of the research on guns in the U.S. with Derek Thompson, senior editor at The Atlantic.
