Trash collectors work through a giant pile of garbage on Hemenway Street in Boston, Mass. (Simon Rios)
As Boston slowly returns to normal, after getting more than 100 inches of snow, trash collectors are struggling to navigate the streets and pick up garbage that may be blocked by or buried in snow.
City officials say trash volume is down 10 percent this month, but the city has logged 4,600 complaints about trash pickup, compared to 900 in an average month. From the Here & Now Contributors Network, Simon Rios brings us the view from a garbage truck.
