Apple and Facebook both exceeded expectations in their latest earnings reports.
Apple reported $45.6 billion dollars in revenue — the highest March quarter on record and the strongest non-holiday quarter ever. This came despite the lack of new technology Apple has released in recent quarters, such as an iPhone with a larger screen, which is in high demand.
Facebook also made waves with 72 percent growth in revenue and 82 percent growth in advertising revenue. Mobile advertising accounted for 59 percent of the ad revenue.
Derek Thompson, senior editor at The Atlantic, joins Here and Now’s Jeremy Hobson to talk about the earnings reports, and whether these two powerhouses can continue to grow.
