Insight: Pool Care During Drought

As California deals with a critical drought, swimming pools are under increased scrutiny by homeowners, local governments and even water agencies. But many swimming pools actually use less water than a similar-size lawn. And if the pool is properly maintained, less water will be used. Placer County Water Agency officials are urging pool owners to check for leaks, install a pool cover, shut off fountains and waterfalls, and take other steps in order to save as much water as possible.
