When I was growing up I pretty much regraded classical music as background music for movies. In high school I heard a piece of music that absolutely captivated me. I asked a musician school mate of mine what that piece was called.  She stated, "Fur Elise". I said, "Did you say furry leaves?" she said, "No. FUR ELISE! By Beethoven".

I quickly became obsessed with the music and wanted desparately to learn how to play it. I took my savings and bought a piano and began taking lessons. I never did master that piece but I did begin a life long love of classical music. When I hear that piece today, I recall the first time I heard it and remember the joy of discovering something wonderful.
